Ken, fresh from his TTA Street Tire FR Turbo Class win, will be taking part in his “white rocket” S15. Michael, who finished 3rd in Ignition. My’s Speed Challenge, will be hoping to repeat his podium finishing streak. He will be dusting off the trusty Miata this weekend.
They will be up againts, amongst others, a BMW Z4M, a AE 86, a VE Holden Commodore in the pursuit of RWD Series glory.
On paper it will look like Mike will be at a disadvantage, but in the Speed Challenge he was able to fend off cars like the MR-S, RX-7, RX8 on his way to the podium. Mild mannered in demeanor, he’s a real demon behind the wheel, willing to go door to door with other sports cars. Mike’s Miata has been slowly but surely fine tuned and tweaked over the years to the machine it is today. Though it must be said Mike does have bigger plans for it in the future.
For Ken, it’ll be a chance for his S15 to go door to door racing after 2 Time Attack style events. He will be looking to add a SNFS trophy to his ever increasing trophy collection. The S15 has undergone some changes over the past year, and it’s still a “Work-In-Progress” to get it up to Ken’s exacting standards.
The Saturday Night Series is a loosely based on the original Batu Tiga events. Organisers have modernised it to cope with the times, with more safety drawn in an more street car oriented.. Participants will be racing on the North Circuit in a 5-lap battle, for 3 heats. The running order for Heat 1 will be determined by drawing lots for starting position. For subsequent heats the finishing order of the previous heat will determine start position. Trophies will be awarded to 5 classes, namely Campro Chase, FF Festival, RWD Series, 4WD Attack and Race cars.
